Volume 1, September 29th, 2012.
Greetings from ILACADA! I hope your semester is going well so far and you are enjoying cooler weather. After this summer, we certainly deserve it. Fall is always an energizing time for the advising community as we greet our new and returning students to campus and we ourselves fall into familiar routines. I hope one of those routines will be attending the 2012 NACADA Annual Conference. This year, we will meet in Nashville, TN and I will look forward to seeing many of you there. All of the information you will need about the conference, sessions, and other exciting offerings conference related can be found on the conference webpage. At the conference, ILACADA is sponsoring a social and networking hour on Friday, Oct 5 beginning at 5:30 pm (right after the Region V meeting) at the Radisson Opry Backstage Grill, located at the Opryland Radisson. We will have some light appetizers and other giveaways so scoot your boogie on over after the meeting for a down home Illinois good time! Pat Jordan, Volunteer Chair for this year’s conference tells me they are still in need of volunteers in Nashville. Please contact Pat at pat.jordan@wku.edu asap if you have a couple of hours to devote to volunteering. It is GREATLY appreciated and very much needed. Remember, NACADA (like ILACADA) is essentially an organization run by volunteers. We NEED YOU!!! Throughout this newsletter, you will find that ILACADA has been busy working for you! We have many outstanding professional development plans and options available for our members and if there is anything you would like to see us work on or work toward, please let us know. In the meantime, we hope to see you in Nashville. Enjoy the semester…it promises to fly by! |
