Michael “Brody” Broshears has served as the director of University Division at the University of Southern Indiana since 2007. Before joining USI, Brody created and then directed, the newly formed Academic Advising Center at Northern Illinois University 2004-2007. He also spent six years as an academic advisor at the University of Northern Iowa from 1998-2004. Brody is an active member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and is finishing up a two year term as Region V Chair for that organization. Brody has presented at numerous regional and national conferences on topics including advising administration, advising systems, the needs of undecided students, and peer advising.
Brody has spent his entire professional career helping students make the most of their college experience. Honesty, openness to diversity, and collaboration are important in all that he does. He views his primary role in this profession as that of an educator with an ethical responsibility to improve the lives of those around him.
